RETIRED
Here are some of the wonderful dogs I have had the pleasure to own in the past. Since it is my belief that all the dogs should have a great retirement, I work to find the very best homes for them while they still have plenty of years to enjoy their lives.
English Cream Golden Retrievers -
Chase's Line of Chamber
Chase is an incredible dog. He did a great job as a sire here at Sand Lake Kennels, and has now moved into his second career as a therapy dog in a nursing home in Minnesota. It is the perfect fit for him. He is a gentle, loving dog, a trait that he passed on to his puppies. Those qualities have made him a super dog to bring joy to the residents he visits on a daily basis. I couldn't be happier for him.

Rose's White Dove-
Rose's White Dove, or Rose for short, was a wonderful addition to the Sand Lake Kennels family. After producing a couple of beautiful, white English Cream Golden Retriever puppies, Rose has been retired and is enjoying life with her daughter Kylie at Tom and Karolynn Biegler's. I am so happy for Rose and grateful to Tom and Karolynn for providing Rose a happy new home.

Aussiedoodle Harlee
Harlee is a first generation cross Standard Aussiedoodle, sired by my AKC registered Standard Poodle "Jake" and out of "Red", my red merle Standard Australian Shepherd. She is a red merle girl, born July 3, 2012. Click HERE for more pictures of Harlee.
Harlee is one of those special dogs that finds a special place in your heart. She is a goofy, playful girl and one that I never dreamed would leave here; however, I received a call from someone that had recently lost their dog, and I just knew that Harlee was the perfect dog to heal their grieving heart. I suggested that she take Harlee, and it was the perfect match. Although I miss her dearly, I know that she is loved beyond measure and in the perfect home.

Texas Heeler Quinn-
This is Quinn. She is a Texas Heeler, a wonderful hybrid cross of Australian Shepherd and Australian Cattle Dog. The Texas Heeler's origin began with the Animal Research Foundation; Lucy Guynes, Weatherford, Texas was the first to register the Texas Heeler with the Foundation in May, 1970. The Texas Heeler is a smart, agile, athletic herding dog that makes a wonderful working farm dog and family dog. Click HERE for more pictures of Quinn.
Quinn has been retired after raising a couple of wonderful litters of puppies for us and is now a frisbee dog for her owner. We are so happy for Quinn and love it that she has a great new life!

Australian Shepherds
Red
Red Raven, aka "Red", is a worker bee, always wanting to be out herding the horses. She is EXTREMELY smart; when I give her the command to sit, her haunches hit the ground almost before I am done saying the word! Red's Aussiedoodle puppies have found homes all over the country and I have gotten terrific reviews about them. Check out the testimonials page to see what Red's puppy families have to say. After raising just two litters of puppies here at Sand Lake Kennels, Red spent one summer helping work cattle for my friend Margo's husband, and has since gone to the Black Hills of South Dakota, where she is living the "life of Riley." We will miss Red but know that she loves her new home with my good friends Bob and Candy.

Lizzie
Lizzie Keepsake's Dandy, aka "Lizzie" is a beautiful blue merle lady with one blue eye and one partially blue and partially brown eye. She is the dam of Sand Lake Sparks and Cinders (pictured below.) Prior to joining our family, Lizzie was earning her keep as a working cattle dog, riding in the tractor and being a part of life on the farm. I had a chance to meet Lizzie when I went to see Cinder as a puppy. I was blown away both by the quality of her pups and by her gentle demeanor as I looked them over. I not only purchased Cinder but asked if it was possible to buy Lizzie as well, and her owners agreed. Click HERE for more pictures of Lizzie.
Lizzie has been retired and is doing a wonderful job entertaining two youngsters and their parents in the Black Hills. Even more fun, she will get to go and visit with Red, as Bobby and Lindsey are son and daughter-in-law to my friends Bob and Candy, so they will have lots of play time. Lizzie is the perfect family dog for Bobby and Lindsey and little tykes.
