The AUSTRALIAN MOUNTAIN DOODLE
The Australian Mountain Doodle is a cross between an Aussiedoodle and a Bernedoodle. It brings in the following breeds; Australian Shepherd, Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle. This makes an ideal combination not only in looks but in temperament. The Aussiedoodle has the smarts, the go, the willingness to please and protect their family and the color. The Bernedoodle is more chill, more "I'll play and then flump down"; they have an "off button." Combine that with the terrific temperament, the "clownish nature" and coat traits of the Poodle and we have an extraordinary cross! We are super excited about them!
We are planning on continuing to breed this cross as we really have faith in them. Not only are they beautiful, they are terrific tempered dogs.
Character: Australian Mountain Doodles love to be with their family. They are eager to please and get along well with children, other animals, and strangers. They are social dogs and crave being around people. They typically do not bark much, are very friendly and make a poor watch dog. Its intelligence and desire to please makes it highly trainable.
Coat Type: The Australian Mountain Doodle has fine hairs which appear quite thick. It can be curly or straight, most fall somewhere in the middle. Some first generation coats can revert back to their Australian Shepherd or Bernese Mountain Dog heritage. They can come in a wide variety of colors including black tricolor, black with white, or merles. A variety of colors and coat textures can appear in the same litter. Depending on the source breeds, the Australian Mountain Doodle may shed little to none like the Poodle or shed moderately like the Bernese Mountain Dog or Australian Shepherd. You should brush your Australian Mountain Doodle weekly.
Size: The Australian Mountain Doodle has an average shoulder height of 21-28 inches and weighs 65-95 lbs.
