Many Aussiedoodles are hypoallergenic, however, that is not a guarantee.  Because you are crossing a breed that sheds (the Aussie) and one that doesn't (the Poodle) there still is a very small chance to get some shedding.  However, if they do shed, it usually is minimal. 

 Most allergy sufferers are actually reacting to pet dander rather than hair. If you keep your Aussiedoodle brushed and clean, give regular baths, etc.  that usually helps tremendously.

 Aussiedoodles are a breed that needs regular grooming to keep them mat free so potential Aussiedoodle owners should plan to groom their pup on a weekly basis.  This also provides good bonding time and gives you a chance to look for any skin or coat issues your pup may have.

I like to use a good pin brush to gently brush through my dog's coat.  A metal toothed comb is also a good one to have.  If you have mats in your dog's coat, you can also use a dematting tool with bladed teeth, which usually does the trick.  Just try and be gentle as you work the mats out.  You want this to be a good experience for your pup.  A good bath with a quality shampoo and coat conditioner prior to removing any mats may also help and may help keep your pups coat tangle free in the future.

Hi there.  We are two of Blaze and Jake's puppies.  We just found out what snow feels like on our toes as we explored outside.  Boy, that stuff is cold!

We can't believe we are starting to feel like really big puppies.  We like to play a lot and explore the house.  Nancy says she likes the sound of our feet "plunking" on the floor.  

It is almost time for us to go to school.  What do you think that means?  We hope it will be fun.  We look forward to our first Christmas and hope to have new families to spend it with!

Well, it is that time of year again.  Time to celebrate the birth of Christ.  This is one of my favorite times of the year.  Sure wish it wasn't so cold, though.  My puppies got to step out onto the snow for the first time this week.  They have been playing inside most of the time.  They didn't quite know what to think of that cold stuff on their feet.  Well, what would the holidays be without snow?

Hi.  I am Rueben, and I am a happy fellow.  I heard that I am such a beauty that a lady I met said "In 40 years time I have never had a dog literally stop me in my tracks 'till now."  Wow, am I proud.  I am told I am an excellent example of the Aussiedoodle breed.  My mother is Red, a red merle Australian Shepherd, and my father is Jake, a white Standard Poodle.  Nancy is hoping to get another litter of pups that will be full siblings to me, if Mother Nature and Red cooperates.  I am pictured here with my owner's friend's daughter.  She didn't want to let me go!  Boy, do I have the life with so many people who love me!

Hi, I am Sina.  My full AKC registered name is Sina Matu of Sand Lake.  My call name is actually pronounced "Seena."  I am so proud of my new family.  We are French Brittanies and are so pretty.  I have 4 girls and only one boy.  I hope my boy doesn't get spoiled by the girls!  French Brittanies make terrific family dogs and great hunters, but we need our exercise to be happy because we have a lot of energy!  I know my new puppies  will be going to great homes, even as far away as Massachusetts.  One of my babies will be going to his new home there with Thomas!  I hope you come and visit my family! 

Hello there!  I am one of the new Goldendoodle puppies.  What should I be called?  I am a real character!

My brothers and sisters and I are all getting up on our chubby little legs and starting to explore our world.  We are looking forward to learning about life and lessons on how to be great dogs.  We are looking forward to meeting our new families!

I know.  It says the "Puppy Diaries" and I am a cat.  My name is Fluffy and I just wanted to prove that the dogs are not the only clever ones that know how to ring the bell on the door when they want to go outside.  I can do it too.  Nancy uses a bell on the door as a cue for the dogs to signal when they want to go outside.  I figure if it works for them, it should work for me too.  Right?  (I also can open all the doors in the house, even without opposable thumbs.  Nancy made the mistake of getting doors with lever handles instead of round knobs.)

Hello There! 

My name is Yani.  I am one of Red and Jake's pups from 2012.  I got to do a lot of traveling with my new family.  My birthday was July 3rd, pretty close to Independence Day.  At first I thought the celebrations were for me!  Haven't I turned into a pretty girl? I think I look alot like my sister Harlee and my sister Amber, who lives in Bar Harbor, Maine.  Amber is the one in the T-Shirt. Amber got hurt when playing with Mom and got a cut under her forearm so she had to wear a T-shirt to protect it.  Nancy had fun buying some little kid's shirts for her.  Don't we make a pretty trio? 

Hi!  I am Lucy, a French Brittany.  My dad was imported from Ireland.  Can you imagine that?  What a long plane ride.  His name is Cliathon Starbuster, but everyone just calls him Buddy.  Here I am "helping" with the laundry.  I think I am good help but Nancy isn't so sure.  This picture was taken earlier this spring.  I have since gone to my new family, Michael and Sharla.  

I actually will end up not only being a good companion and family dog, but will be old enough to do some hunting this fall.  I am hearing great things about my siblings as well.

Hi.  I am Half Pint, the little one in the front.  (My friend Red is behind me.)  I came to Sand Lake Kennels when I was 3.  I am now 6.  I am very shy usually and spend almost all my time hanging out in Nancy's walk-in closet.  Nancy knows that I like it there so she put my bed in there.  I like to hoard all the chew toys and bones and sneak them in the closet when I think no one is looking.  Nancy comes every so often to gather them up so the other dogs get to chew and play with them.  That is OK.  I can always sneak them away again.  I used to always hide in the closet but just lately have decided to come out and meet people when we have visitors.  If you come to visit, please ask to say  HI to me.
